      Hi Andreea9,

      Lava can be between 800 degrees celcius and 1200 degrees celcius. It depends on what kind of lava you have. The lava in my photos is probably around 1100 deg C where it is glowing red. Where it is silver in colour it is much cooler than that – a few hundred deg C.

      In Hawaii, some people take food and cook it on the silver lava. Traditional is burritoes wrapped in foil, or marshmallows.
