Wow, what a tricky question! I’m not a biologist, so I had to double check a few things before answering your question.
The human body grows in lots of different ways. I think that bone growth is the most important way that we grow, especially the leg bones which is what makes us tall. Bones grow by adding new bone at the ends, so the get longer and loner, but they don’t really get wider. Muscles have to grow alongside the bone. But you can help grow your muscles by doing exercise and making them strong. Then all the other things like skin grows around them. Its actually quite complicated and the cool thing is that each individual part knows how much to grow so you grow properly.
