      Hi chocorainbows12,

      Yes, our brain is mostly water. About 75% of it, or three quarters. This is because in order to send messages from one area to another, we have to send a messenger. The messengers need something to float in!

      It is also the fattiest organ as it is about 60% fat (that doesn’t sound like it should add up, but remember – fatty tissue has water in it too). Fat is important because it covers the cells, much like the coloured plastic that is on the outside of electrical wire, and makes sure that messages get sent to the right place.
